The Rectors' Conference is an important tool for improving the quality of higher education

On June 24, 2022, the next meeting was held within the framework of the Erasmus + project "Creation of the Conference of Rectors of Azerbaijan", coordinated by Baku Business University and funded by the European Commission. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Idris Isayev, Advisor to the Minister Nijat Mammadli, 11 rectors and other authorized representatives from the member universities of the project consortium. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the draft Charter of the Rectors' Conference within the project and the work done so far in the project, as well as future work plans. Opening the event, Rector of Baku Business University Ibad Abbasov greeted the participants and conveyed his sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 26. The rector spoke about our brilliant victory in the 44-day Patriotic War due to the courage of the glorious Azerbaijani army and the steel will and iron fist of our victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Then the rector thanked the Ministry of Education for the great support in the implementation of the event. In his speech, Ibad Abbasov presented a number of important information about the implementation and success of the project.

Then, Deputy Minister of Education Idris Isayev thanked Baku Business University for organizing the meeting and spoke about the reforms in the field of education. The Deputy Minister spoke about the work done to improve the quality of education, increase the competitiveness of higher education, as well as strengthen the capacity of the academic staff and the tasks ahead. Touching upon the importance of the project "Establishment of the Conference of Rectors of Azerbaijan", Idris Isayev said it would be useful in achieving these goals. Isayev said the project was a successful step in terms of strengthening coordination and cooperation in the higher education system, sharing positive experiences between higher education institutions, studying international experience, obtaining common proposals in decision-making and having a common platform for discussions. I.Isayev also stressed the relevance of the committees proposed in the Rectors' Conference to the education strategy. The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of higher education institutions to be closely involved in the project and contribute to it, and wished success to the meeting.

The project coordinator, Gulshan Bayramova, Director of the University-Industrial Cooperation Department of Baku Business University, made a presentation on the project implementation. G. Bayramova shared information about the purpose, goals and action plan of the project with the participants. He then spoke about the activities carried out to date under the project, including research among higher education institutions and their results, the analysis of needs. In conclusion, G.Bayramova presented proposals on the organizational structure and board of the Conference.
