Roundtable Held at Baku Business University on the Importance of Hosting the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan

A roundtable dedicated to the importance of hosting the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF-13) in Azerbaijan was held at Baku Business University. The main objective of the event was to provide students with comprehensive information about the essence of WUF-13, its international significance, and the opportunities created for Azerbaijan by hosting this prestigious event.

During the roundtable, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Javidan Heydarov emphasized that WUF-13 is one of the leading international platforms in the fields of global urban development and sustainable development. He noted that hosting the forum in Azerbaijan would significantly contribute to enhancing the country’s international reputation, learning advanced practices in urban planning, and raising awareness among young people in this area. In his speech, he also highlighted that informing students about such large-scale international events is important for their future career development and stressed the strategic importance of hosting the forum in the country.

As part of the event, participants were shown presentation videos about WUF-13. The videos included information about the forum’s objectives, main directions, participation of countries around the world, and global challenges related to sustainable urban development. The roundtable attracted great interest among students; at the end, participants’ questions were answered, and an exchange of views on the topic took place.
