
A meeting with Masud Afandiyev, Chairman of the Board of the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists (WAAS) and Honored Scientist of Azerbaijan, was held at Baku Business University. The meeting was attended by the University’s management, academic staff, and young researchers.
Opening the event, the Rector of the University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Ibad Abbasov, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Masud Afandiyev to Baku Business University. The Rector noted that Masud Afandiyev is the first Azerbaijani professor to receive the Alexander von Humboldt Award, established by the German government. He also provided information about innovations implemented at the University, reforms carried out in the educational process, and ongoing efforts aimed at developing the academic environment. In his speech, the Rector emphasized that supporting young people’s education, scientific activity, and personal development is one of the priority directions of Baku Business University.
During the meeting, Professor Masud Afandiyev shared his positive impressions of Baku Business University. The Honored Scientist noted that the University’s material and technical infrastructure, including its library, teaching laboratories, classrooms, and student service centers, meets modern standards. M. Afandiyev highlighted the importance of the support provided by the University to young people. He also shared his extensive scientific experience and achievements gained in the international academic environment with the participants. He emphasized the importance of organizing such events on a continuous basis, noting that such meetings make a significant contribution to the scientific and professional development of young people. Masud Afandiyev expressed proposals on expanding cooperation between Baku Business University and the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists, as well as implementing joint initiatives.
At the end of the event, M. Afandiyev answered questions addressed by academic staff and doctoral students, followed by an engaging exchange of ideas.
