Roundtable dedicated to the topic “The Impact of Alternative Energy Development on the Labor Market”
On March 4, 2026, a roundtable discussion titled “The Impact of Alternative Energy Development on the Labor Market” was held at Baku Business University within the framework of cooperation between the Department of Economic Theory and the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues.
During the event, relevant topics such as the impact of green economy development on employment in the country, mechanisms for creating new jobs, as well as the assessment of employment in the renewable energy sector from a gender perspective were discussed.
The roundtable was opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Maleyka Abbasova, followed by an opening speech delivered by Head of the Department of Economic Theory Jabir Mirzai. Afterwards, Chief Specialist of the National Observatory Elnara Garibova shared her views on the topic with the participants. Faculty members Shahla Nazarova and Samir Aslanov contributed to the discussions with their engaging presentations.
The event continued in the format of an active exchange of ideas with the participation of attendees and concluded with discussions of current issues in the relevant field.
At the end of the roundtable, it was considered appropriate to summarize the results and prepare them in the form of a scientific research work, and a relevant decision was adopted in this direction.
