Roundtable on “Global Urban Development Trends and Regional Perspectives”

On May 8, 2026, a roundtable discussion titled “Global Urban Development Trends and Regional Perspectives” was held at Baku Business University within the framework of cooperation between the Department of Economic Theory, the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, and the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources.

During the event, extensive discussions were held on modern urban planning approaches, sustainable urbanization, “smart city” concepts, the integration of alternative energy sources into urban infrastructure, and regional development perspectives.

The roundtable was officially opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs M.N. Abbasova and continued with an opening speech by the Head of the Department of Economic Theory C.C. Mirzaini. In their speeches, N.V. Ahmadov, A.S. Sarkarli, Sh.F. Nazarova, and S.S. Aslanov particularly emphasized the importance of creative urban planning, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovative urban management models for future development.

The event was marked by an active exchange of ideas among participants and discussions on future cooperation opportunities.

At the end of the roundtable, it was considered appropriate to summarize the outcomes of the discussions and prepare them in the form of a scientific research work, and a relevant decision was adopted in this regard.
