Scientific Essay Competition Among Students on the Topic “Azerbaijani Cities: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” Held at Baku Business University

On April 29, 2026, a scientific essay competition among students on the topic “Azerbaijani Cities: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” was organized at Baku Business University by the Department of Humanities.

The main purpose of the event was to increase students’ interest in scientific creativity, deepen their knowledge of urban planning, regional development, and urbanization processes, as well as develop their research skills regarding the past, present condition, and future development prospects of Azerbaijani cities.

Students from various specialties of the University actively participated in the competition, presenting scientific papers on the socio-economic development of Baku and other Azerbaijani cities, their historical and cultural heritage, the formation of modern urban infrastructure, and future development models.

The presentations were evaluated by the jury based on scientific approach, depth of research, analytical thinking, and presentation skills. Winners and distinguished participants were awarded diplomas and certificates of appreciation by the University administration.

At the end of the event, it was noted that such initiatives are of great importance for revealing students’ scientific potential, developing their research culture, and preparing young professionals who will contribute to the country’s future development.
