The Scientific Library of BSU held a training-seminar at Baku Business University
On October 18, 2022, the Scientific Library of Baku State University (BSU) organized a training session called "Possibilities of using and publishing academic databases" for faculty members, masters and researchers of Baku Business University within the framework of the Azerbaijan Library Information Consortium (Az.KIK).
Baku Business University vice-rector for scientific affairs Maleyka Abbasova, who opened the event with an introduction, spoke about the importance of holding such events and introduced the trainers to the guests. She noted that Baku Business University is a member of the Azerbaijan Library Information Consortium (Az.KIK) and the international "EIFL.net" Consortium ("Electronic Information for Libraries"). Within the framework of cooperation with the EIFL.net Consortium, Az.KİK organizes the provision of literature suitable for the educational and scientific fields of member organizations, the creation of digital archives in relevant libraries, 11,000 journals, 8,516 of which are peer-reviewed; including social, humanitarian, computer sciences, engineering (oil, gas, etc.), physics, chemistry, transport, etc. from the database containing magazines in such fields, more than 2700 books and brochures, 510 names of newspapers, etc. provides the possibility of using sources in electronic form.
Director of BSU Scientific Library, Nigar Ismayilova, spoke about the activity of BSU Scientific Library in establishing cooperation between high school libraries and prestigious international organizations and publishers in the field of library work.
Jamila Yusifova, head of Az.CIS, representative of EIFL.net and EBSCO in Azerbaijan, head of department at BSU Scientific Library, services of EBSCO and EIFL.net international consortium, magazines, books, newspaper packages prepared in various fields of science and education, she talked about special academic journals related to economics and the rules of their use.
Iltifat Ibrahimov, EIFL.net's "Open Access" coordinator, leading specialist of the main systems and integration department of ADA University, presented to the training participants the rules for supporting article publications in academic databases and using the EBSCO database.
At the end, the participants' questions were answered.
